Mission

The Louisiana State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (LSBEP) is a state regulatory agency responsible for the licensure and regulation of psychology professionals in Louisiana. The LSBEP is created to safeguard life, health, property, and the public welfare of the state, and to protect the people of this state against unauthorized, unqualified and improper application of psychology.

Overview of Role

This position provides administrative and operational support to the Executive Director and assists with the day-to-day licensing and regulatory activities of the Louisiana State Board of Examiners of Psychologists. The position serves as an important point of contact for applicants, licensees, and members of the public and assists with processing applications and documents, maintaining accurate records, responding to routine inquiries, and supporting general office operations and special projects. Success in this position requires strong organizational and time-management skills, attention to detail, professional communication, sound judgment, initiative, adaptability, integrity, and the ability to follow established policies and procedures. The successful candidate should be comfortable learning and using technology and able to manage multiple responsibilities independently while recognizing when a matter requires guidance or escalation.

This position offers an opportunity to gain experience in professional licensing, healthcare regulation, and state government while working closely with the Executive Director in a small professional office. It is particularly well suited for someone who enjoys helping people, values public service, and is interested in developing increasing knowledge and responsibility over time.

  • Recent graduates who demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and technology skills are encouraged to apply.
