The State of Louisiana is seeking Licensing Analysts in the Licensure Division. This Probational appointment supports processing licensures and renewals, and requires working knowledge of Practice Acts, Rules, Regulations, and State Statutes governing medical and allied health practitioners.
The role involves handling applicant interactions, data analysis for eligibility, and conducting investigations as needed. Starting salaries vary by level (1: $1,348.80; 2: $1,442.20; 3: $1,652.00 monthly).
The mission of the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners is to protect and improve the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Louisiana through licensing, regulation, research, and discipline of physicians and allied health professionals in a manner that protects the rights and privileges of the licensees.
Three years of experience in the issuance, maintenance, or reinstatement of licenses; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

This Licensing Analyst 1/2/3 position is in our Licensure Division. The majority of duties and responsibilities involve processing licensures and renewals, which include reviewing, studying, and maintaining a working knowledge of Practice Acts, Rules and Regulations, and State Statutes that regulate the licensing of all medical and allied health practitioners under the jurisdiction of the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners. Learns and proficiency in the licensure and renewal process for all practitioners regulated by the LSBME. Interacts with licensees, applicants, and other professional contacts via telephone, e-mail, or face-to-face. Examines and analyzes data submitted by and/or on behalf of each applicant for licensure for accuracy, authenticity, and completeness of factual information to document the determination of eligibility and qualification for licensure. Conducts pre-licensure investigations of each applicant for eligibility and/or qualifications for licensure. Conducts investigations through personal interviews as needed and/or directed. Schedules and coordinates all aspects of requisite interviews of applicants with Board members. Receives, safeguards, records, analyzes, and prepares reports of security clearance data, which includes fingerprint identification, provided by federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies for licenses. Advises applicants and/or licensees of the status of the application and/or requests relative to the requisite information for further disposition of the same. Receives and reviews professional examination results and advises and makes recommendations to examinees, examines, advisory committees, and superiors. Receives, analyzes and verifies the authenticity of diplomas and licenses submitted by applicants, licensees, institutions, and/or other licensing authorities.
