Job description

Position Summary

PR & Mktg Spec III – The Administrative and Licensing Coordinator reports directly to the Executive Director of Licensing and assists with overall management of the university’s licensing program. This role acts as a catalyst for the licensing program by interacting with various on-campus entities such as the University Bookstore, Athletics, Auxiliary Services, Purchasing, Risk Management, and the University Counsel office to maximize Old Dominion University’s licensing program. The Coordinator will help build and execute a licensing strategy to best achieve university objectives.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of a trademark licensing program.
  • Considerable knowledge of marketing principles and practices.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and/or Mac programs.
  • Demonstrated skill in building relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated strong ability to pay close attention to detail, including strong proofreading skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.

Required Experience

Prior experience working directly with retail planning/buying, marketing, and/or product manufacturing.

Additional Considerations
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations related to trademarking and licensing.
  • Demonstrated experience with social media marketing strategies.
  • Some experience working in a collegiate environment.
Conditions of Employment

In-person reporting to campus. This position is not eligible for telework. The employee may be required to work during a university closing as directed by his or her supervisor. These instances may include working from a remote location (i.e., telework, etc.).

Compensation

Salary commensurate with education and experience
