Job summary

Pueblo Medical Imaging is seeking an organized Medical Office Administrative Assistant to support outpatient imaging facilities. You will greet patients, manage schedules, verify information in RIS, collect payments, and coordinate referrals.

The role requires at least one year in a medical office, English proficiency, and typing ability. Bilingual skills are preferred. You will work as part of a collaborative admin team to ensure excellent patient experiences daily.

Qualifications

  • One-year previous medical office experience.
  • Ability to read, understand, write, speak and follow English instructions.
  • Bilingual abilities preferred.
  • Must be able to type 25 words per minute.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and check-in patients in a prompt, pleasant, and helpful manner.
  • Schedule, coordinate, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
  • Relay necessary messages to staff.
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls across all capacities.
  • Verify patient information, prior exams and history in RIS, and document necessary details.
  • Collect co-pays, co-insurance or deductibles and follow cash handling procedures.
  • Assist with verification of benefits and authorizations as needed.
  • Scan referrals into the system for scheduling patients from work lists.
  • Coordinate film/report pickup and delivery as required.
  • Maintain 80% productivity and perform other duties as assigned.

Bilingual abilities preferred.Ability to speak clearly and concisely for effective communication.General knowledge of insurance benefits.Must be able to type 25 words per minute.MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to use excellent communications skills.Ability to manage stress appropriately.Ability to manage time efficiently.Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritizes effectively.Ability to work alone and/or with others effectively.Ability to work in close proximity to others in a distracting environment.Possesses common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form.
