Responsibilities

  • Design project-based learning experiences for creativity and problem-solving.
  • Maintain safety and operate shop equipment.
  • Collaborate with instructors, staff, and administration.

Lyndon Institute is seeking a creative, passionate, and innovative adjunct instructor to support our growing Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering CTE program. This part‑time position is responsible for delivering engaging, hands‑on instruction in areas including manual and CNC machining, 3D printing, engineering, design software, and robotics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing, engineering, design, and lean concepts. This position is ideal for an industry professional who enjoys mentoring young people and helping students develop the technical and professional skills needed for success in advanced manufacturing and engineering careers. Working in our state‑of‑the‑art facility, the adjunct instructor will provide high‑quality instruction through project‑based learning, helping students become skilled problem‑solvers while connecting classroom learning to real‑world industry practices.

Instruction
  • Deliver engaging, hands‑on instruction in advanced manufacturing and engineering coursework.
  • Teach concepts related to manual and CNC machining, additive manufacturing (3D printing), engineering design, and computer‑aided design/manufacturing (CAD/CAM), based on the instructor's expertise.
  • Guide students in the use of industry‑standard software such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, and/or Autodesk Inventor.
  • Design and facilitate project‑based learning experiences that promote creativity, critical thinking, and engineering design.
  • Integrate industry best practices, including Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement concepts, into classroom instruction.
  • Assess student learning and provide timely feedback to support student growth.
Student Support
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Encourage students to develop technical, professional, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Support students as they explore post‑secondary education, apprenticeships, military service, and careers in engineering and manufacturing.
  • Encourage participation in Career and Technical Student Organizations, including SkillsUSA and FIRST Robotics, as appropriate.
Laboratory Safety and Equipment
  • Maintain a safe, organized shop environment and ensure students follow established safety procedures.
  • Safely operate and instruct students in the use of manufacturing equipment, including lathes, mills, CNC equipment, 3D printers, cutting tools, and other laboratory resources.
  • Assist with maintaining equipment and identifying supply or maintenance needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the full‑time Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering instructor, CTE department staff, and school administration to support program goals.
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues regarding student progress when appropriate.
  • Participate in department meetings and professional learning opportunities as mutually agreed upon.

Class runs daily, Monday through Friday, 8 Am -10:25. Must commit to all year. The pay is $6500 per semester.
