Salt Lake Community College is seeking an Adjunct Radiologic Technology Assistant to support the Radiologic Technology program. The successful candidate will prepare and teach classes, maintain student records, and ensure adherence to program policies, with online and in-person instruction at the SLCC West Jordan Campus.

This is a pooled, semester-by-semester position with no guarantee of continued employment.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in Radiologic Technology or related field.
• Current Utah RT license required.
• Three (3) years of paid RT clinical experience.
• Evidence of post-secondary teaching experience is optional in some tracks.

Responsibilities

• Effectively prepare and teach Radiologic Technology classes as stipulated in the course syllabi.
• Maintain accurate student attendance records, grades, and other classroom documentation.
• Demonstrate depth of knowledge in Radiologic Technology and adhere to program policies.
• Follow Radiologic Technology Program Handbook policies and procedures.
• Participate in trainings and other responsibilities as assigned.
• Respond to department and college communications within two business days.
• Provide timely feedback on assignments and return graded work per deadlines.
• Maintain a safe and respectful instructional environment for students.

Job description

The Adjunct Radiological Technology Assistant Program position at Salt Lake Community College involves providing teaching support within the Radiologic Technology Program. The successful candidate will prepare and teach classes, maintain student records, and ensure adherence to program policies. This role may involve both online and in-person instruction at the SLCC West Jordan Campus.

This is a pooled position. The department reviews applications as positions become available.

• Effectively prepare and teach Radiologic Technology classes as stipulated in the course syllabi.
• Maintain accurate and complete student attendance records, grades, and other classroom documentation as applicable.
• Demonstrate a depth of knowledge and understanding in the field of Radiologic Technology.
• Follow policies and procedures as defined by the Radiologic Technology Program Handbook.
• Participate in trainings and other responsibilities as assigned and approved.
• Respond to department and college communication within two business days.
• Accept other duties as assigned.
• Provide appropriate and timely feedback for all assignments.
• Return graded assignments in a timely fashion per department standards.
• Conduct a variety of appropriate evaluations of student performance.
• Inform students of progress-to-date periodically and assign and submit grades by published deadlines.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and mutually respectful instructional environment.
• Prepare and submit incident reports to Dean of Student Services for inappropriate student behavior as defined by the Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities Policy.
• Maintain professional and collegial behavior.
• Handle/respond to student concerns/complaints, and respond to student communications and inquiries promptly.
• Maintain professional appearance as defined by the discipline and/or College procedure.
• Complete all required employee trainings.
• Know and enforce FERPA guidelines.
• Provide ADA accommodations as requested
• Ability to communicate effective with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
• Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
• All Faculty will maintain an on-site campus presence to encourage in-person relationships and create engaging, meaningful, and impactful learning experiences unless approved for on-line only courses.
• You are employed as an Adjunct Faculty member/ Instructor on a contract-to-contractbasis, with no future expectation or obligation for employment. Your employment may be terminated At Will at any time.
• You are required to maintain professional boundaries with all SLCC students.

• Associate's degree from a USDE regionally accredited college or university.
• Three (3) years of recent, paid, clinical experience in health care settings as an RT practitioner.
• Radiologic Technology degree from an accredited college or university.
• Hold a current RT license in the state of Utah.

• Bachelor's degree from a USDE regionally accredited college or university.
• Five (5) years of recent, paid, clinical experience in health care settings as an RT practitioner.
• Evidence of post-secondary teaching experience in Radiologic Technology.
