Job description

Position Summary

Weatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for this continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position within the department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses.
  • Mentor students inside and outside of the classroom.
  • Create and maintain an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned, including face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, and dual credit instruction.
  • Provide instruction in both traditional and non‑traditional learning modes and engage in instructional preparation.
  • Provide timely feedback to students and respond to student communications in a timely manner.
  • Assess student performance and submit final grades in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain ethical and professional behavior; be available to students by appointment.
  • Attend adjunct faculty meetings, assess courses on departmental and institutional levels, and complete any required training.
  • Perform any related duties as assigned.

  • Instruct in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses.
  • Provide instruction that will achieve the specific goals and objectives associated with all assigned courses.
  • Create a professional and effective learning environment in the classroom and/or laboratory.
  • Communicate effectively with students, college personnel and administration, peers and public groups.
  • Treat all persons with respect, dignity, and justice, without discrimination based on protected characteristics.
  • Exercise the highest professional and ethical standards in the use of College time and resources.
  • Observe the stated policies and procedures of the College.
Required Education

All faculty members must provide minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) credential standards which normally include an earned Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline. Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with application.
