StrataTech Education Group in Houston seeks an Adjunct Instructor for HVAC/R and Electrical Applications to deliver employer-sponsored workforce training to working adults in virtual and hands-on labs.

You will teach using two modalities, uphold instructional quality, and represent StrataTech in a Fortune 500 client environment. Curriculum is provided and followed as designed, with cohort-based scheduling.

Qualifications

Five or more years of hands-on HVAC/R or electrical field experience.
EPA 608 Universal certification required.
NFPA 70E electrical safety awareness required.
Ability to communicate technical content clearly to adult learners.
Ability to deliver instruction in a synchronous virtual environment.
Willingness to travel to lab sites.
Proficiency with basic digital tools including LMS and video platforms.
Professional conduct aligned with StrataTech representation.

Responsibilities

Deliver HVAC/R and electrical curriculum in synchronous virtual sessions and in-person lab environments with technical accuracy and instructional clarity.
Follow the assigned curriculum as designed. Content is not substituted, condensed, or modified without approval.
Prepare for every session in advance. Review materials, confirm equipment readiness for lab sessions, and enter the session ready to instruct.
Adapt delivery style to adult learners who bring field experience. Meet them where they are technically without lowering the standard the program requires.
Maintain accurate attendance, participation, and progress records in Canvas or the assigned LMS for every session.
Complete all required documentation, reporting, and administrative tasks accurately and on time.
Deliver synchronous virtual sessions using Microsoft Teams or the assigned platform. Be on screen, on time, and set up to instruct.
Facilitate discussion, check for understanding, and hold student engagement at the same standard as an in-person session.
Use the virtual environment to connect basic HVAC/R or electrical theory to real equipment and systems. Draw on field experience to make content relevant to what learners encounter on the job.
Manage virtual participation actively. Identify disengaged or absent learners and address it within the session.
Notify the StrataTech Leadership immediately if platform issues prevent delivery.
Set up the lab environment before each session so that equipment is operational, materials are staged, and the space is ready before the first learner arrives.
Inspect all equipment and tooling before each lab session. Report deficiencies, damage, or missing consumables to the Senior Director, Enterprise Training Operations before the session begins, not after.
Enforce all applicable safety protocols, PPE requirements, and OSHA standards without exception.
Facilitate lab activities at a pace that builds competency, not just task completion.
Reset the lab environment at the conclusion of each session. Equipment returned to its designated location, consumables replenished or documented for restocking, and lab space left in training-ready condition.
Hold students to the standard the program requires.
Identify learners who are falling behind and intervene early.
Provide clear, specific, and actionable feedback throughout the program.
Administer assessments with integrity and grade against the defined rubric.
Document and report student performance, attendance, and outcomes in Canvas on the timeline the program requires.
Conduct yourself as a StrataTech representative; comply with client site access, security, and safety requirements.
Communicate with client-side personnel professionally and escalate issues to StrataTech leadership.
Raise equipment issues, scheduling conflicts, and student concerns proactively.
