Job summary

Marymount University invites applications for an adjunct faculty position in the GMD program. You will teach undergraduate GMD studio courses, covering areas such as Adobe CC, digital photography, videography, motion graphics, web design, UX/UI, and design communications.

You will follow the syllabus and Canvas-based curriculum, delivering high-quality, in-person courses at the Main Campus in Arlington, VA.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree and/or substantial professional experience in the design industry.
  • Five years of professional experience in the field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in design software using Adobe CC on a Mac environment.
  • Experience teaching in higher education is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach designated GMD courses, keeping teaching materials current.
  • Maintain appropriate office hours and support students in their journey and career progression.
  • Work with the GMD Program Manager to identify new topics and arrange guest speakers or adjuncts.

Depending on your expertise and experience, you may teach a course in any area of study offered by the GMD program, including Adobe CC, digital photography, videography, motion graphics, digital publishing or publications, web design, UX/UI, or design communications. Applicants will be expected to follow the syllabus and set curriculum for the course already prepared and delivered through Canvas.Faculty are expected to teach high-quality courses in face-to-face settings. The School of Design + Art within the College of BILT is located at Marymount University’s Main Campus in the city of Arlington, Virginia.
