Job summary

Job description

Position Overview

This position requires a passion for effective teaching and advising of diverse students, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to the comprehensive state college mission.


Responsibilities


  • Teach occupational skills and knowledge to provide students with the competence to become skilled in the field and to secure a job in their new career.

  • Demonstrate occupational materials, tools, equipment, and processes using standard and/or instructor-prepared aides per state requirements.

  • Instruct students in the appropriate safety precautions and the safe operation and use of tools and equipment per state requirements and manufacturer guidelines.

  • Control the storage, maintenance, and use of materials and property to prevent loss or abuse.

  • Establish and maintain standards of student conduct to provide an orderly, safe, and productive environment in a hands‑on activity classroom setting.

  • Assist and follow all curricula and act as a team player.

  • Report to the program director, SonjaMcCall‑Strehlow, and the Department Head, Applied Technology and Professional Services.

  • Be available for both morning and evening classes.


Qualifications


  • Graduation from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and approved by the College with a Facials Certification/License.

  • Licensed in the field of facials for at least six years, or a two‑year degree with four years’ experience, or a four‑year degree with two years’ experience, or a master’s degree with one year experience.

  • Proficiency with various types of facials modalities and a clear understanding of OSHA and sanitization rules and regulations, plus job safety.

  • Reliable transportation.

  • Prior teaching experience preferred, but not required.


Additional Requirements


  • Compliance with background investigation requirements per §435.04(2), Florida Statutes.

  • Successful candidates will undergo a Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check.
