The position teaches occupational skills and knowledge, ensuring students gain the competence needed to secure employment in their chosen field. It requires demonstrating occupational materials, tools, equipment, and processes using standard and/or instructor‑prepared aides per state requirements, instructing students in safety precautions and safe operation of tools and equipment, and controlling storage, maintenance and use of materials and property. The instructor establishes and maintains standards of student conduct to provide an orderly, safe, and productive environment in a hands‑on activity classroom setting. The role reports to the program director and department head. Availability for both morning and evening classes is required.

Responsibilities

• Teach occupational skills and knowledge to provide students with competence for career success.
• Demonstrate occupational materials, tools, equipment, and processes using standard and/or instructor‑prepared aides per state requirements.
• Instruct students in appropriate safety precautions and the safe operation and use of tools and equipment per state requirements and manufacturer guidelines.
• Control the storage, maintenance, and use of materials and property to prevent loss or abuse.
• Establish and maintain standards of student conduct to provide an orderly, safe, and productive learning environment in a hands‑on classroom setting.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from an institution that is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education and approved by the College.
• Hold a Nail Specialty Certification/License and be licensed in the field of Nails for at least six years, OR have a two‑year degree with four years’ experience, a four‑year degree with two years’ experience, or a master’s degree with one year of experience.
• Proficient with various types of manicures, pedicures, acrylic enhancements, tips and overlay, sculpting using a form, nail wraps, nail fill‑ins, artificial nail removal, polishing, nail art, and gel nails.
• Clear understanding of OSHA and sanitization rules and regulations, plus job safety.
• Reliable transportation.
• Prior teaching experience is preferred, not required.

• This is an open applicant pool; positions are filled by the department on an as‑needed basis.
