Job Description

This position requires a passion for effective teaching and advising of diverse students, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a demonstrated commitment to the comprehensive state college mission. The successful candidate will assist in following all curricula and will be a team player. Responsibilities include teaching occupational skills and knowledge to provide students with the competence to become skilled in the field and to secure a job in their new career; demonstrating the use of occupational materials, tools, equipment, and processes using standard and/or instructor‑prepared aides per state requirements; instructing students in the appropriate safety precautions and the safe operation and use of tools and equipment per state requirements and manufacturer; controlling the storage, maintenance, and use of materials and property to prevent loss or abuse; and establishing and maintaining standards of student conduct to provide an orderly, safe, and productive environment in a hands‑on activity classroom setting. Requires being available for both morning and evening classes.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an institution that holds accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and approved by the College with a Facials Certification/License. Licensed in the field of facials for at least six years, a two‑year degree with four years’ experience, a four‑year degree with two years’ experience, or a master’s degree with one year experience. Proficiency with various types of facials modalities, a clear understanding of OSHA and sanitization rules and regulations, and job safety. Must have reliable transportation. Prior teaching experience is preferred, not required.

Background Check Requirement

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of §435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.
