Job Description

This position requires a passion for effective teaching and advising of diverse students, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a demonstrated commitment to the comprehensive state college mission.

Responsibilities include:

• Assist with curriculum updates.
• Teach occupational skills and knowledge to provide students with the competence to become skilled in the field and to secure a job in their new career.
• Demonstrate occupational materials, tools, equipment, and processes using standard or instructor‑prepared instructional aids.
• Instruct students in appropriate safety precautions and the safe operation and use of tools and equipment.
• Control the storage, maintenance, and use of materials and property to prevent loss or abuse.
• Establish and maintain standards of student conduct to provide an orderly, safe, and productive environment in an activity‑type classroom.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from an institution that holds accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and approved by the College with an Electricity Certification or License plus 3 years of experience in the Electricity field.
• Proficiency with installation and repair of various types of commercial and residential wiring systems; working knowledge of residential and commercial electricity, knowledge and application of local building code requirements, OSHA and EPA regulations, and job site safety areas required.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• NCCER Craft Instructor Certification and prior teaching experience are preferred but not required.
