Job description

Overview

Assist with curriculum updates and teach occupational skills and knowledge to students to prepare them for careers in the Electricity field.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with curriculum development and updates.
  • Teach students occupational skills and knowledge for the Electricity field.
  • Demonstrate occupational materials, tools, equipment, and processes using standard or instructor‑prepared instructional aides.
  • Instruct students in appropriate safety precautions and the safe operation and use of tools and equipment.
  • Control the storage, maintenance, and use of materials and property to prevent loss or abuse.
  • Establish and maintain standards of student conduct to provide an orderly, safe, and productive environment in an activity‑type classroom.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Electricity Certification or License.
  • Minimum 3years of experience in the Electricity field.
  • Proficiency with installation and repair of various types of commercial and residential wiring systems.
  • Working knowledge of residential and commercial Electricity, local building code requirements, OSHA and EPA regulations, and job‑site safety.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Preferred: NCCER Craft Instructor Certification and prior teaching experience.
  • Must meet the requirements of §435.04(2) Florida Statutes, including a successful Florida Department of Law Enforcement background check for each successful applicant.
