Job summary

WPU The William Paterson University of New Jersey seeks an experienced Adjunct Faculty member for the Department of Economics, Finance and Global Business. The ideal candidate will develop syllabi for various undergraduate courses and provide guidance to students. Responsibilities include teaching in person and/or online, and demonstrating a commitment to their professional development.

Preferred qualifications include significant managerial experience and the ability to translate business practices to teaching. This position offers competitive per credit rates of $2,100 for new employees and $2,175 for long-term staff.

Qualifications

• Five or more years’ experience in a managerial capacity.
• Ten or more years of business experience for graduate courses.
• Published articles or conference papers in relevant fields.

Adjunct Faculty – Department of Economics, Finance and Global Business

Responsibilities

• Develop relevant syllabi to deploy course content, objectives, and student assessment for up to six (6) credits per semester in undergraduate courses (Macroeconomics Principles, Microeconomics Principles, Business Statistics I & II, Corporate Finance, Financial Well‑Being).
• Contribute to student success by providing consistent and effective support and guidance through role modeling and mentoring.
• Teach in person and/or online depending on course schedules and department needs.

Undergraduate Course Qualifications

• MBA or Master’s in an applied business discipline.
• Five or more years’ experience in a managerial capacity.
• Full‑time or part‑time employment or active professional practice.
• Ability to teach online.

Graduate Course Qualifications

• MBA or Master’s in an applied business discipline.
• Ten or more years of business experience in a managerial capacity.
• Full‑time or part‑time employment or active professional practice.
• Ability to teach online.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certification and/or continuing professional education relevant to business domain.
• Professional activity within discipline such as leadership or managerial role in a business enterprise, non‑profit organization, government agency or business professional organization or society.
• Experience teaching both online and in person.
• Published peer or non‑peer reviewed articles, conference papers, blogs, or books.
• Board membership in a relevant business or professional association.

Adjunct Per Credit Rate

• New employees – $2,100/CREDIT.
• Employees who have worked for 13+ semesters at WP – $2,175/CREDIT.
