Job Description:
The Adjunct - Construction Management (Pool) position providesquality instruction and maintains a positive learning environmentin the classroom, with major emphasis placed on teaching,supporting, and evaluating students. The Adjunct role providesinstruction and monitors teaching/learning effectiveness in coursesassigned by the Department Chair or other leadership members. Theincumbent must exhibit strong organizational skills and the abilityto multitask while engaging large groups of people with complicatedmaterial.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Instruction & Student Learning
- Teaches assigned courses as scheduled. Designs curriculumembracing diversity, in all forms, to foster talent in studentswhile modeling inclusive teaching strategies, with an understandingof the socio-cultural issues of traditionally underrepresentedgroups.
- Considers individual differences of students in order to designand support a range of appropriate learning activities.
- Participates in the identification of students with academic orother needs and responds by utilizing an appropriate resource.
- Uses technology in a manner appropriate to the nature andobjectives of courses and programs and communicates clearly tostudents the expectations concerning the use of suchtechnology.
- Keeps accurate and appropriate records in accordance withdepartmental policies.
- Maintains attendance records, determines and submits gradestimely, and in accordance with established policies and proceduresof the College, and communicates progress feedback as well as otherrelevant information to students throughout the semester.
- Distributes and maintain accurate syllabi that incorporatesdepartmental, college, cross-college, and instructorrequirements.
- Conducts classes punctually and in accordance with theprescribed meeting schedule.
- Employs appropriate assessment techniques to measure students’performance in achieving course goals and objectives.
- Engages in periodic meetings with the department, LeadInstructor, and Chairperson relative to teaching duties andprofessional development.
Student Engagement & Advisement
- Creates a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages activeand collaborative learning, student effort, academic challenge,student and faculty interaction, and support for learners.
- Uses technology to assist in communication with students.
- Encourages a sense of community among students for learningboth inside and outside the classroom.
- Refers students to appropriate student and academic supportservices available at the College or in the community.

- Fosters and maintains a safe environment of respect andinclusion for faculty, staff, students, and members of thecommunity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate of Applied Science degree in Construction Managementor a related field
- OR Five (5) years of site/project management experience in thedesign-build-operate-manage industry
- OR Department of Labor Journeyperson status in a constructiontrade discipline.
- State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable abilityto gain access to work site(s).
- *An appropriate combination of education, training, courseworkand experience may qualify a candidate.

Compensation Details:
Compensation: $55.88 per contact hour
Contact Hour: Two hours equals one contact hour
Hours: Maximum of 12 contact hours per week
