Job summary

CSCC is seeking a part-time Adjunct in Marketing to deliver quality instruction and foster a positive learning environment. The role emphasizes teaching, supporting, and evaluating students across assigned courses in alignment with department policies.

The instructor will design appropriate activities, monitor learning effectiveness, and maintain records, grading timelines, and appropriate attendance documentation throughout the semester.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree required in Marketing.
  • Five (5) years of industry experience above entry level.
  • State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).

Responsibilities

  • Teaches assigned courses as scheduled and oversees curriculum with departmental policies to ensure rigorous programs and high-quality instruction.
  • Designs learning activities that account for individual differences among students and supports diverse learners.
  • Uses technology appropriately to support course objectives and communicates expectations for technology use.
  • Keeps accurate records, submits grades timely, and shares progress feedback with students.
  • Maintains syllabi aligned with departmental and college requirements and conducts classes as scheduled.
  • Employs assessment techniques to measure student performance toward course goals and objectives.
  • Participates in meetings with department leadership for teaching duties and professional development.
  • Engages in student advisement and connects students to appropriate support services.
  • Creates a respectful and inclusive classroom environment.

Job Description

The Adjunct – Marketing position provides quality instruction andmaintains a positive learning environment in the classroom, withsignificant emphasis placed on teaching, supporting, and evaluatingstudents. The Adjunct role provides instruction and monitorsteaching/learning effectiveness in courses assigned by theDepartment Chair or other leadership members. The incumbent mustexhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to multitaskwhile engaging large groups of people with complicatedmaterial.


Instruction & Student Learning


  • Teaches assigned courses as scheduled and assumes primaryresponsibility for and exercises oversight of the curriculum inconjunction with the Department’s policies, ensuring both the rigorof programs and the quality of instruction.

  • Considers individual differences of students in order to designand support a range of appropriate learning activities.

  • Participates in the identification of students with academic orother needs and responds by utilizing an appropriate resource. Usestechnology in a manner appropriate to the nature and objectives ofcourses and programs and communicates clearly to students theexpectations concerning the use of such technology.

  • Keeps accurate and appropriate records in accordance withdepartmental policies.

  • Maintains attendance records, determines and submits gradestimely and in accordance with established policies and proceduresof the College, and communicates progress feedback as well as otherrelevant information to students throughout the semester.

  • Distributes and maintains accurate syllabi that incorporatedepartmental, college, cross-college, and instructorrequirements.

  • Conducts classes punctually and in accordance with theprescribed meeting schedule.

  • Employs appropriate assessment techniques to measure students’performance in achieving course goals and objectives.

  • Engages in periodic meetings with the department, LeadInstructor, and Chairperson relative to teaching duties andprofessional development.


Student Engagement & Advisement


  • Creates a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages activeand collaborative learning, student effort, academic challenge,student and faculty interaction, and support for learners.

  • Uses technology to assist in communication with students.

  • Encourages a sense of community among students for learningboth inside and outside the classroom.

  • Advises potential or current students within the disciplineabout the program, career, or transfer options available to assistwith degree completion.

  • Refers students to appropriate student and academic supportservices available at the College or in the community.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Master’s Degree in Marketing

  • Five (5) years of industry experience above entry level

Preferred Qualifications


  • Prior teaching experience preferred

Compensation Details

Compensation: $56.88 per contact hour


Contact Hour: Two hours equals one contact hour


Hours: Maximum of 12 contact hours per week
