Job summary

Divergent is seeking a Service Specialist to maintain and enhance additive manufacturing equipment. You will develop maintenance strategies, diagnose failures, and implement improvements to maximize part quality and production uptime.

You will analyze data, optimize PLCs and automation interfaces, and mentor technicians while adhering to strict safety protocols in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or Associate's degree in a technical field and equivalent maintenance technician work experience.
• Automation and machine control experience with demonstrated troubleshooting capabilities.
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair experience.
• Interest and ability to work hands-on with additive technology in a factory environment.
• Highly self-motivated and able to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast paced, startup manufacturing environment.
• Strong ability to think and work autonomously when required, and to perform under pressure to logically troubleshoot systems and processes.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical performance of additive manufacturing equipment by developing, validating, and implementing maintenance strategies, diagnostic methods, and equipment improvements.
• Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, optical, controls, and process-related failures and develop corrective actions.
• Apply service expertise to analyze, troubleshoot, optimize, and improve machine performance and production capability.
• Design, refine, and improve maintenance procedures, calibration methodologies, and operating standards.
• Execute advanced calibration activities requiring independent technical judgment to maintain precision.
• Analyze equipment performance trends and production data to identify opportunities for reliability and cost reduction.
• Work with PLC logic, automation interfaces, and equipment configurations to improve system performance.
• Serve as the technical service SME for assigned AM systems and communicate repair timelines.
• Interpret schematics and drawings to solve technical problems and adhere to safety protocols.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives supporting production capability and manufacturing excellence.
• Develop technical documentation and mentor technicians.
