Job summary

Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District is seeking an Aide/Paraprofessional (Adaptive Behavior) for the 2026-2027 school year at the Middle School level (Grades 6-8) in Cypress, Texas. Starting date is immediately.

Terms include 187 days and a salary of $21,739 IP-2, with an additional $3,000 annual stipend for Adaptive Behavior aides. The role supports teachers, assists students with disabilities, supervises activities, and maintains confidentiality while delivering quality classroom

Qualifications

• Proof of high school graduation or GED equivalent.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Flexible and able to adjust your daily routine.
• Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate a professional appearance and attitude.
• Physically able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Must have one of the following: 48 hours of college credits, Associates or higher degree, or CFISD proficiency test (70+).

Responsibilities

• Help teacher prepare and adapt instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care and maintenance of equipment, books and supplies.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Assist students with disabilities according to their needs, including transferring to and from wheelchairs, lifting and positioning.
• Assist students with physical needs and personal care, including feeding, bathroom needs and personal hygiene.
• Help supervise students during lunch, bus, and playground.
• Maintain confidentiality.
