Job summary

Osceola Medical Center is seeking an Emergency Department RN to provide direct patient care through all stages of nursing process. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced acute care setting.

The role requires a Wisconsin RN license, a minimum of two years RN experience (one year in ED preferred), and current BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP/TNCC or willingness to obtain within six months.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing with current WI RN licensure in good standing.
• Minimum of two years RN experience (or equivalent) required.
• Minimum of one year ED experience preferred.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and TNCC (or similar trauma certification) or willing to obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Meets OMC health requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in assigned departments based on staffing needs, patient acuity, and demonstrated competencies.
• Float between designated clinical areas including Med/Surg, ED, and OB as trained and qualified.
• Assist with staffing shortages related to sick calls, PTO, unexpected vacancies, and increased patient care demands.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, administer medications and treatments, and document care accurately in the EMR.
• Respond to changes in patient condition, initiate appropriate interventions, and communicate promptly with the healthcare team.
• Support admissions, discharges, transfers, and patient throughput.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership and Initiative supervisor to prioritize assignments.
• Maintain required competencies, certifications, and knowledge specific to the assigned clinical departments.
• Follow OMC policies, evidence-based standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Continually strive to meet and exceed customer service standards with patients, visitors, staff.
• Communicate patient status and plan of care with patient and their family.
• Attend staff meetings and mandatory education.
• Maintain appropriate licenses and certifications independently.
