Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in the Lexington area is seeking an entry level Professional Registered Nurse in Inpatient Services for the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). The RN will coordinate and deliver clinically competent care, including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients, with opportunities to delegate tasks to care staff under supervision.

Qualifications

• RN with entry level status in CAP program and states board licensure is required.
• Experience in nephrology or dialysis settings is preferred but entry level acceptable.
• CPR/BLS certification is required and applicable state practice requirements must be met.

Responsibilities

• Performs essential functions under supervision and with guidance from Educator or RN.
• Collects and analyzes patient data pre-, during-, and post-treatment; adjusts plan as needed and notifies supervisors and physicians.
• Educates patients and families on care and learning needs; documents in medical records.
• Assesses patient status and reports deviations to health team members.
• Directs safe patient care for assigned patients and coordinates with care staff.
• Initiates communication with dialysis providers and facility personnel to ensure continuity of care.
• Administers medications as prescribed and documents effectiveness and justification.
• Participates in staff training and orientation; may provide specialized nursing instruction as needed.
