Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Duluth, MN seeks a patient care technician to support acute dialysis services. You will work under direct supervision of the Hemodialysis RN, assist with setup, monitoring, documentation, and safety procedures during dialysis treatments, and contribute to quality improvement efforts.

Responsibilities include recording vital signs, reporting concerns to the RN, and helping maintain a clean, safe environment while complying with FMC policies and federal/state regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent required.
• CMS/state certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ishihara Color Blindness test required; accommodations considered if needed.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care under direct supervision of the Hemodialysis RN for assigned patient(s).
• Reports and documents new incidents, information, complaints, or problems to the RN.
• Maintains a safe, clean work environment and supports QEP/QAI activities.
• May set up and prime equipment for renal replacement therapies as directed by the Fresenius Nurse.
• Ensures dialysis machine is set up, tested, and safe for treatment per policy.
• Welcomes patients and monitors well-being, reporting observations to the RN.
• Obtains pre/post treatment vital signs and weight; reports unusual findings.
• Documents treatment data in EMS/ACES and related systems.
• assists with other duties as assigned.
