Job summary

Lowell General Hospital is seeking patient care techs to join the Acute Care Transition Team at the Main Campus – Emergency Room. The role delivers expert inpatient nursing support under physician and RN guidance, focusing on admission flow, safety, and compassionate care.

Hours are 24 hours per week on day shift with every other weekend and holiday rotation; prior BLS and CNA credentials are required, with preference for 1 year of healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• One year of healthcare experience and nursing service experience preferred.
• Certified patient care, clinical associate, CNA or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under nurse direction, perform activities of daily living (ADLs) and patient care to ensure safety.
• Prepare patient rooms for admission and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Prioritize care per nursing direction and discharge plan.
• Transport patients to procedures and discharges within the hospital.
• Operate equipment safely, assist with meals, and collect specimens.
• Document patient data accurately and maintain sitter observations when required.
• Provide clerical support and greet visitors professionally.
