Job summary

Lowell General Hospital is seeking patient care techs to provide expert inpatient nursing support in a fast-paced environment. You will assist with ADLs, prepare rooms, and help ensure patient safety while collaborating closely with nurses and multidisciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes compassionate patient-centered care, strong communication, and flexibility in a dynamic setting, with day shifts and weekend rotations in the Emergency Department.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a nurse, performs activities of daily living (ADLs) patient care.
• Prepares patient rooms for admission.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for the patient.
• Prioritizes patient care according to nursing direction and discharge plan.
• Transports patient to procedures and discharge within/from hospital as directed.
• Cleans and operates equipment safely and correctly.
• Prepares patients for meals, assists with meals or feeds patient as necessary.
• Performs technical tasks such as glucometer use and lift assisted devices.
• Collects, records and reports accurate patient data in a timely manner.
• Performs duties of Patient Sitter and maintains continuous observation as outlined in guidelines.
• Greet visitors and answer phones professionally.
• Screen access to department per policies and security rules.
• Complete admission, transfer and discharge duties in an organized manner.
• Maintain paper components in patient charts.
