Job summary

Adventist HealthCare's Shady Grove Medical Center in Gaithersburg, MD seeks an experienced Speech Language Pathologist for the Acute Care Therapy department. The role supports our mission of extending God’s care through physical, mental and spiritual healing.

The per diem position offers a $60/hour rate, 8 hours per week, and weekend shifts. Candidates should hold an MD license and AHA CPR, with a background in rehabilitation and team-based care.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Doctorate in Speech-language pathology from an accredited program.
• Active Maryland license is required.
• AHA HCP CPR certification is required.
• 2 years of experience preferred (at least 1 year in setting).

Responsibilities

• Perform initial examination and evaluation to establish diagnosis and plan of care.
• Provide or supervise therapy interventions aligned with evaluation results.
• Reexamine patients and adjust the plan of care as needed.
• Plan for discharge with appropriate follow-up or referrals.
• Document all aspects of patient management with the care team.
• Supervise rehab aides and office staff when needed.
• Manage schedule to accommodate census and caseload.
• Attend team meetings and communicate patient status.
