Adventist HealthCare’s Shady Grove Medical Center seeks an experienced Speech Language Pathologist II for the Acute Care Therapy Department. You will conduct evaluations, plan and direct therapy, supervise rehab staff, and coordinate discharge planning across rehab settings.

The role requires a Maryland license, BLS, and AHA CPR, with a 40-hour work week, day shift, and weekend rotation. Salary range listed; benefits include comprehensive coverage and retirement matching.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in SLP from an accredited program or from an educationally equivalent international program.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience (at least 1 year in setting preferred)
• Active Maryland License, AHA HCP CPR; BLS certification required

Responsabilités

• Perform initial examination and evaluation to establish impairment/diagnosis, prognosis, and plan of care in acute care, outpatient or inpatient rehab settings.
• Provide or supervise therapy intervention aligned with evaluation results and plan of care; involve patient and care team in planning and assessment.
• Plan for discharge considering goals and outcomes; discontinue when progress ceases or benefits end; coordinate with referring provider/team.
• Communicate, coordinate, and document all aspects of patient management with care team.
• Supervise rehab aides, office assistants, and volunteers; manage caseload and scheduling.
• Attend team meetings and communicate patient status; ensure knowledge of the case.
• Engage in performance improvement activities and professional development; provide education to consumers and professionals.
• Mentor students during clinical practice in patient-centered care.
