Job summary

VA Long Beach Healthcare System is seeking experienced Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs) for a 1+ year W2 contract. You will provide respiratory care in inpatient settings, work with interdisciplinary teams, and ensure high-quality patient care.

The role requires NBRC-credentialed RRTs with active licenses, ACLS certification, at least 3 years in acute care, ABG proficiency, and VISTA EMR experience. Schedule includes 40 hours weekly with varied shifts and holidays.

Qualifications

• NBRC-credentialed RRT with active license.
• ACLS certification required by AHA.
• Minimum 3 years in an acute care hospital setting.
• Familiarity with mechanical ventilators and ABG analysis.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory treatments including bronchodilators, steroids, nebulizers, and IPPB.
• Performed intubations and assisted with bronchoscopies, thoracentesis, and chest tube placement.
• Operate and maintain mechanical ventilators and CPAP/Bi-level devices.
• Conduct ABG analysis and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care and equipment use.
