Job summary

MercyOne Trinity Health is seeking a part-time Acute Care RN to provide safe, effective, and culturally competent care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions. The RN will supervise LPNs and patient care assistants, coordinate care with physicians and families, and ensure adherence to safety, infection control, and organizational policies.

Responsibilities include assessments, care planning, implementing and evaluating outcomes, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Must hold Iowa RN license (Illinois license if practicing in IL).
• Associate degree in nursing required; BSN preferred.
• BLS certification required; ACLS required if telemetry monitoring is in use; Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conducts an initial assessment to gather data.
• Identifies patient problems and develops an outcome-based care plan.
• Implements the outcome-based care plan and monitors progress.
• Evaluates patient progress and revises the plan as needed.
• Coordinates communication among physicians, patients, families and the care team.
• Manages telemetry and cardiac monitoring when applicable.
• Provides age-appropriate care and adheres to safety and infection control policies.
