Job summary

MercyOne Trinity Health in Des Moines, IA is seeking an Acute Care Registered Nurse for a 12-hour night shift. The RN provides and directs safe, effective care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions, using evidence-based practice and critical thinking.

The role supervises LPNs and care assistants, coordinates care with physicians and the interdisciplinary team, and supports discharge planning. Iowa RN license and BLS are required; BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing is required.
• BSN preferred per job posting.
• Current Iowa RN license is required; Illinois license if working there.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial patient assessment within 30 minutes of admission.
• Develops and implements outcome/goal-based plans of care.
• Coordinates plan of care with Case Manager, Social Worker and other disciplines.
• Monitors telemetry and responds to cardiac events or rhythm changes.
• Communicates with physicians and care team to optimize outcomes.
