Job summary

MercyOne Clinton Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide safe, effective, and culturally competent care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions. The RN will supervise a nursing team, collaborate with physicians and other caregivers, and participate in discharge planning and education.

The position is a .3 FTE, 12-hour day shifts (7:00 am–7:30 pm) with rotating weekends and holidays, located in Clinton, Iowa.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license.
• American Heart Association BLS required.
• ACLS required only if telemetry monitoring is available.
• Mandatory Reporter training within three months of hire.
• High language, intermediate to high math, high critical thinking ability.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts an initial assessment within 30 minutes of admissions.
• Develops outcome-based care plans and coordinates with the care team.
• Coordinates care, discharge planning, and referrals to relevant services.
• Communicates with physicians, patients and families to ensure quality care.
• Maintains safety, documentation, and adherence to policies across shifts.
