Job summary

Virtua in New Jersey is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant for an acute care float position to all divisions as needed, Sunday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The role delivers rehabilitative patient treatments under the supervision of a physical therapist and tracks patient progress.

You will assist with clinical and operational issues, maintain patient records, coordinate with the care team, and educate patients and families while respecting age, condition and culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum PTA Associate degree from an APTA-accredited program.
• Current licensure in the State of New Jersey and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Consults with medical, ancillary professionals and other team members to provide optimum quality patient care and effective operations.
• Provides physical therapy interventions consistent with the plan of care and gives feedback to the physical therapist on patient status.
• Maintains and completes patient records, reports and all written documentation in a timely manner per regulatory guidelines.
• Effectively utilizes aides and other support staff as appropriate.
• Educates patients and families, communicating according to age, condition and cultural needs.
