Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care, Department of Pharmaceutical Care, seeks a 50% time Pharmacy Technician (Tra inee or Certified) to support Acute Care in Satellite Pharmacy. Working under supervision, you will handle dispensing support, inventory, and medication delivery across patient care units.

The role includes training responsibilities, adherence to aseptic technique, and collaboration with pharmacists to ensure accurate dispensing and documentation.

Qualifications

• Registered with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy at time of hire.
• National certification through PTCB or NHA; ongoing CE requirements.
• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• Two years of post-high school experience in sciences or completion of an accredited technician program.
• Technician Trainee must be registered and certify within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform inventory maintenance in satellites and dispensing areas.
• Review inventory for expired medications and maintain par levels.
• Deliver medications to patient care areas and ensure security of meds.
• Operate Omnicell XT Medstations and related dispensing equipment.
• Assist with training and provide supervision to student technicians.
