Qualifications

• Must be registered with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy at time of hire.
• National certification through PTCB or NHA; maintain certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of post-high school science experience or completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program.

Responsibilities

• Assist in inventory maintenance in satellites and dispensing areas.
• Review inventory for expired medications and maintain par levels.
• Prepare/label medications, document activities, and manage inpatient Epic In-Baskets.
• Deliver medications to patient care areas and return unused meds.
• Ensure medication security and proper storage of controlled substances.
• Maintain records for medication distribution and dispensing.
• Operate automated dispensing systems and sterile compounding equipment.
• Support training of pharmacy students and technician staff.
