We seek a dedicated Acute Care Outpatient Coder to join our team, contributing to patient care and organizational success.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a remote Outpatient Coder, you will handle alerts/edits for outpatient procedures, perform resolution activities, and communicate with relevant teams.

• Compile daily work lists from alert systems.
• Update notes and reroute issues as needed.
• Escalate unresolved issues to minimize billing delays.
• Monitor account aging and prioritize accordingly.
• Collaborate with billing, revenue integrity, and Medicare teams.
• Communicate coding revisions and complete mock abstracts.
• Assist in resolving unbilled reasons and perform duties as needed.
• Review work accomplishments and discuss training needs with managers.

Qualifications:

• Associates or Bachelors in HIM/HIT preferred.
• 2+ years of outpatient coding experience in a hospital setting.
• RHIA, RHIT, or CCS preferred.
