BJC is hiring for a Outpatient Coder. This is a remote PRN position, but must located in MO or IL. We are looking for applicants that specialize in Cath IVR Coding. Must have at least 2 years of experience.

Required certs: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CPC-A, CCA, COC, or CIRCC.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

The Outpatient Coder IV works independently to assign diagnosis, procedure codes and modifiers for Interventional Radiology and Interventional Cardiology while adhering to all regulatory guidelines. At least one of the following certifications is required for this position: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CPC-A, CCA, COC, or CIRCC.

Responsibilities

Thoroughly reviews and analyzes patient encounters for compliant coding.

Accurately assigns codes in a timely manner.

Accurately abstracts data elements as required.

Effectively collaborates with leadership and customers (HIM Operations, Patient Access and other departments) as appropriate to ensure the integrity of the medical record and coding compliance.

Stays current of all changes in coding conventions, regulatory guidelines, code updates and BJC coding guidance.
