Job summary

Advocate Sherman Hospital - Acute Care Rehabilitation in Elgin, IL is seeking a Part-time Occupational Therapist to evaluate patients' physical, perceptual, cognitive, social, and vocational abilities and to plan individualized treatment. The role requires an OT with a Master’s degree and state licensure, BLS, and experience in acute care.

You will provide therapy, fabricate devices, manage discharge planning, and maintain thorough documentation, with weekend shifts and potential cross-training

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
• Acute care experience required; minimum one year preferred

Responsibilities

• Interprets physician referrals and evaluates patients' physical, perceptual, cognitive, social, and vocational abilities
• Develops and implements a plan of care and provides assistive devices or splints as needed
• Documents progress, coordinates with physicians and care team, and manages discharge planning
• Ensures safety, infection control, and adherence to department policies
