Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapist to join our rehabilitation team in Illinois. You will evaluate patients, plan and implement therapy, and coordinate with physicians to improve daily living activities.

Responsibilities include creating discharge plans, fabricating assistive devices, documenting care, supervising aides where allowed, and contributing to performance improvement efforts. OT license and BLS are required; 20 hours per week with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school
• Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state
• BLS certification within 90 days if required

Responsibilities

• Interprets physician referrals and evaluates patient abilities affecting daily living
• Develops and implements a plan of care and utilizes appropriate techniques
• Provides and/or fabricates assistive devices and/or splints
• Monitors outcomes and adjusts treatment plan; communicates with physicians
• Plans discharge with home programs and family teaching; coordinates community resources
• Documents care per policy; maintains productivity standards; handles billing/documentation
• Maintains safety and infection control; supports performance improvement activities
• Possibly supervises OT assistants or rehab extenders as allowed
