Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff in patient care. Primary duties include taking and recording vital signs, assisting with hygiene and elimination, and maintaining a clean, safe unit environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Ability to float between Orange and Irvine locations as needed.
• Nursing Assistants hired before May 2010 without CNA certification are not required to obtain it now.
• Must read, write and speak English effectively.
• Must be Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), or enrolled in an accredited nursing program with at least 1 clinical semester completed.
• Demonstrates ability to communicate therapeutically.
• Prior patient care experience, preferably in acute care.
• Current BLS certification (AHA) upon hire.
• Must complete workplace violence responder training within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.
