Job summary

VCU Health System Authority is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to provide administrative oversight during evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends. The role supports hospital staff in resolving service delivery issues and coordinates cross-department problem solving to maintain patient care quality.

Required are Virginia RN licensure, BLS HCP, five years of acute care nursing and two years in nursing management. A Bachelor's in Nursing is mandatory; a Master's is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
• Master's degree in nursing or related field preferred.
• Virginia RN licensure required; BLS certification required.
• Minimum of five years of acute care clinical experience.
• Minimum of two years in nursing management.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative resource and management coverage during evenings, nights, holidays and weekends.
• Assist staff in problem-solving service delivery issues between and within departments.
• Identify systems problems during non-business hours that affect service delivery and address them.
• Support staff in problem-solving related to medical and/or nursing care of patients.
