Valley Health is seeking a Nursing Supervisor for the full-time night shift. The RN will supervise patient care delivery when Nursing Directors are not on site, conduct rounds, and collaborate with staff to address clinical and staffing issues.
Responsibilities include coaching staff, documenting practice variations, and ensuring HR policies are followed. The role also involves advocacy for patients and coordinating with AOC, Nursing Leadership, and ancillary departments.
This position is accountable for oversight of patient care delivery whenever the Nursing Directors are not in the hospital. This RN makes rounds to the nursing units, collaborates with staff to solve clinical and staffing issues, addresses and documents practice variations and staff non-compliance to HR policies. Nursing metrics are assessed and staff coached/mentored to improve outcomes when deficits are identified. This RN also serves as a patient advocate, communicates with support departments as appropriate to resolve issues. Following the chain of command, communicates appropriate issues to AOC, Nursing Leadership, and Ancillary Departments.
Knowledgeable in the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological stages of human growth and development. Competent to provide assessment, care and treatment appropriate to the age group of patients served. Acts as notary public by notarizing wills, power of attorney or witness of documents as needed.
