Job summary

HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville is seeking a PRN Acute Care Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support patient care under the supervision of an OT. You will help implement treatment plans, communicate with the care team, and contribute to quality improvement efforts in a dynamic hospital setting.

• BCLS must be current or obtained within 30 days of start date.

• Maintain patient records and documentation.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, therapists, nurses and other team members.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement and inservices training.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) assists in the delivery of patient care as established by the licensed Occupational Therapist to reach treatment goals through a written treatment plan. The COTA will be responsible for maintaining patient records. The COTA maintains good communication with physicians, licensed therapists, nurses, allied health professionals, social workers, discharge planners, and hospital personnel. The COTA participates in continuous quality improvement and strives to excel in customer service. Employee will be responsible for knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the neonate, infant/child, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric population. The COTA actively participates in occupational therapy activities and inservices training.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Associate Degree from an accredited COTA therapy program is required as a minimum
• (COTA) Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, or (OTA) Occupational Therapy Assistant through the state of Floria
