Job summary

HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital is seeking a Certifi ed Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a full‑time role, 32‑40 hours per week. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team providing direct patient care, care planning, and documentation of progress.

The role includes patient/family education and participation in program evaluations. Responsibilities also include supervising support staff, coordinating with the Primary OT, and contributing to rehab development projects and quality

Qualifications

• Must have Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy or related field.
• State Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) licensure required.
• BLS/CPR certification within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and document patient progress.
• Coordinate with Primary OT and supervise support staff and family education.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Full-time, 32-40 hours per week.

Functions as an interdisciplinary team member providing direct patient care and individualized care planning/implementation and oversight of support staff. Performs daily treatments as outlined by Primary Occupational Therapist. Maintains accurate and pertinent documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries on all scheduled patients in a timely and professional manner. Confers with staff members about patient care conferences, family education activities, and D/C planning. When needed, instructs patient/family in home treatment program. Participates in rehabilitation development projects, including quality assessment and improvement program procedures, program evaluations, peer reviews.

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
