Job Summary and Qualifications

We are currently looking for an ambitious Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. As a COTA, you will assist in coordinating patient‑centered, occupation‑based goals to ensure effective diagnostic and therapeutic rehabilitation services for our patients.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Accurately follow established treatment plans to set measurable goals and promote maximum functional independence for Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL’s).
• Record, monitor, and review clinical data, providing feedback to the Occupational Therapist regarding possible modifications to treatment plans and goals based on patient performance.
• Under the direction of the Occupational Therapist and within scope of practice, adapt recognized therapeutic techniques and modalities to meet patient needs.
• Participate in rounding and proactively respond to patient needs to improve outcomes and positively affect overall patient experience.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an American Occupational Therapy Association accredited program.
• Current Florida COTA (Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant) license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
• Critical thinking, service excellence, good interpersonal communication, and the ability to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions.
• Proficiency with PC skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs maximum with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.

Additional Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
