Job summary

AltaPointe Health's Behavioral Health Crisis Center in Mobile, AL is hiring an LPN or RN to provide direct patient care within a 24/7 crisis setting. You will admit, assess and support consumers, coordinate with the medical team, and help de-escalate psychiatric crises as part of a multidisciplinary staff.

You will document promptly, educate patients and families about treatment plans, and maintain safety while assisting with routine nursing duties across units as needed.

Qualifications

• Current LPN or RN license to practice in Alabama.
• Knowledge of psychiatric disorders in adult and pediatric populations.
• Ability to manage crises and de-escalation in a behavioral health setting.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced crisis center environment.

Responsibilities

• Completes admissions and ensures customer service during admissions flow.
• Ensures needs are met for consumer, referral source, physicians, and facility.
• Evaluates needs and reports pertinent information to physicians and staff.
• Completes discharge processes according to policy and procedure.
• Plans and documents patient education for individuals and groups.
• Provides education to consumer and family about treatment plans and medications.
