Job summary

PEMCO is seeking an experienced actuary to join our Product Development team in the Seattle area. You will contribute to profitability assessments and process improvements, shaping financial strategies and optimizing auto, home, and personal lines products.

The role involves pricing, reserving, and modeling across multiple actuarial domains, with opportunities to influence product decisions and regulatory filings. A strong technical background and ACAS certification are required.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Mathematics or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of property casualty actuarial work with focus on rate-making and personal lines.
• Strong technical aptitude and programming experience.
• ACAS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct internal loss reserving to track trends and forecast accuracy.
• Perform pricing analysis to inform rate level and rating variables; innovate indications and automate processes.
• Develop sophisticated actuarial models using predictive techniques and statistics under management guidance.
• Collaborate with business partners on product decisions and assess impacts.
• Prepare regulatory filings aligned with objectives and compliance standards.
• Provide insights on the annual forecast and emerging risks.
