Job summary

Highmark Health in Minnesota seeks an experienced actuarial leader to manage a staff of fellows, associates, and candidates. You will oversee pricing, rate development, and policy implementation to support financial objectives, coordinating with Product Management, Underwriting, and Sales.

The role requires ASA/ACAS progress with MA-AA status, 8+ years in actuarial roles and 5+ years in management, and strong supervisory capabilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics and Statistics.
Attainment of the ASA or ACAS (Associate) designation AND pursuing FSA or FCAS (Fellowship).
Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).
8 years in an Actuarial role and 5 years in a management role leading teams/projects.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage actuarial staff, including hiring decisions and performance management.
Oversee rate filings for large/small group, direct pay, or senior products.
Develop and implement pricing strategies in collaboration with Underwriting, Sales, and Product Management.
Provide advanced support for the claim reserve process.
Assist product pricing for new offerings ensuring financial viability.
Analyze factors impacting pure premium trends and adjust pricing as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
