Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking an experienced actuarial leader to oversee a staff of fellows, associates, and candidates, directing pricing and rate development to meet financial objectives.

You will supervise rate filings, collaborate with Underwriting, Sales, and Product teams, and guide product pricing strategies while ensuring regulatory compliance and financial viability across multiple lines of business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Actuarial Science, Mathematics and Statistics.
• ASA or ACAS designation and pursuing FSA or FCAS.
• Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).

Responsibilities

• Manage actuarial staff including hiring decisions, coaching and performance reviews.
• Oversee rate filings preparation for large group, small group, direct pay, or senior products.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Sales and Product Management to implement pricing strategies.
• Provide advanced support for the claim reserve process.
• Support pricing development for new products and ensure financial viability.
• Monitor pure premium trends by region and adjust pricing as needed.
