Job summary

Highmark Inc. seeks an experienced actuarial leader to manage a staff of fellows, associates, and candidates, and to guide pricing, rate development, and policy implementation across products and regions.

The role supports Product Management, Underwriting, and Sales with technical actuarial oversight. The position requires a strong ASA/ACAS, leadership experience, and expertise in premium rate calculations, reserves, and trend analysis.

Qualifications

• 8 years in an actuarial role.
• 5 years in a management role and/or leading teams and/or projects.
• ASA or ACAS designation and pursuing FSA or FCAS.
• Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).

Responsibilities

• Oversee staffing and day-to-day operations of the actuarial department.
• Oversee preparation of rate filings for large and small group products.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Sales, and Product Management to develop pricing strategies.
• Provide advanced support for the claim reserve process.
• Assist Product Management & Development with pricing new products and ensure financial viability.
• Monitor pure premium trends and adjust pricing as needed.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
