Job summary

Oscar Health is hiring an Intern, Actuarial in New York. The role supports Pricing, ETF, or Valuation practices and offers an introduction to healthcare and actuarial work within a tech-driven insurer.

Interns report to the Senior Manager, Actuarial, with a hybrid schedule involving 3 in-office days per week in New York City. Pay is hourly and ranges from $33.04 to $43.37, plus benefits and 15 days of vacation annually.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.
• Proficiency in Excel; SQL and Python a plus.
• Excellent problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher; actuarial exams helpful for coursework

Responsibilities

• Produce a predetermined project or projects to support one actuarial team, such as models, dashboards, or experience studies.
• Gain exposure to actuarial concepts, tools, and industry practices.
• Participate in actuarial and cross-functional meetings to build relationships with stakeholders.
• Assist with ad hoc analysis and communicate findings to actuarial and non-actuarial audiences.
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
• Other duties as assigned
