Job summary

GPW and Associates, a Beyond Risk affiliate company, seeks an actuarial intern for Fall 2026 in Phoenix. The role offers a part-time hybrid schedule with at least one day per week at the central Phoenix location and 15–20 hours per week, paid hourly depending on experience and exams.

You will contribute to an experienced actuarial team, review and visualize insurance data, and support loss reserving and pricing analyses for clients while developing skills in SQL, Excel/VBA, Python, and R.

Qualifications

• Actuarial science/math/stats student with strong GPA preferred.
• Completion of 1+ actuarial exams preferred but not required.
• Strong mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; Excel and VBA experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of database programming; SQL experience preferred.
• Statistical knowledge: R and/or Python preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Be a contributor on an experienced actuarial team in a collaborative environment.
• Review and visualize insurance data and support loss reserving and pricing analyses for clients.
• Assist with pricing, reserving, and profitability analyses and help prepare reports and presentations for management.
